Being: absolute existence in a complete or perfect state, lacking no essential characteristic; essence.
Awareness: having knowledge; conscious; cognizant.
Please note that the following description is only an approximation and is intended as a general reference to something which is ultimately beyond conceptual understanding.
The primary ground for instruction is what arises out of the combination of BEING and AWARENESS. In qigong, we describe this as becoming aware of the energy field that surrounds and permeates everything, including ourselves. The directed intention of the mind is able to sense, become aware of and engage this field. In becoming aware of it, the possibility develops to further cultivate this field in terms of an energetic exchange, and this is literally what qigong means: the practice of cultivating energy and energy awareness.
“Spiritual practices that involve the physical body, such as t’ai chi, qigong, and yoga, are also increasingly being embraced in the Western world. These practices do not create a separation between body and spirit... ...They will play an important role in the global awakening.” Quoted from 'A New Earth' by Eckhart Tolle.
